Terms of Use
Last updated:
Welcome to eMpTy Theory (“the site”), a blog about iOS, Swift, and mobile development. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) explain the ground rules for visiting and reading the site. They are intentionally short.
Acceptance
By accessing or using emptytheory.com, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of them, please do not use the site.
What the site is (and isn’t)
eMpTy Theory is a read-only blog. There are no user accounts, no comments, no forums, no payments, and no way to submit content. You are here to read articles — that’s it.
Content and copyright
Unless explicitly stated otherwise on a specific post or page, all written content, images, and code samples published on eMpTy Theory are © emptytheory.com. All rights reserved.
You’re warmly welcome to:
- Read and share links to articles.
- Quote short excerpts for commentary, criticism, teaching, or news reporting, with attribution and a link back to the original post.
- Use code snippets from posts in your own projects. Code samples are intended as educational examples and may be used freely without attribution, unless a post says otherwise. They are provided “as is” with no warranty (see below).
Without prior written permission, please don’t:
- Republish full articles on other sites, in newsletters, or in printed materials.
- Use images, screenshots, or other media from the site outside the scope of fair use.
- Train machine-learning or AI models on the content of this site in bulk.
Acceptable use
When using the site, please don’t:
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, probe, or attack the site or its infrastructure.
- Use automated tools to scrape the site in a way that interferes with normal operation.
- Misrepresent yourself as the author or imply endorsement of products, services, or opinions that haven’t actually been endorsed.
- Use the site for anything unlawful.
Third-party links
Posts often link to external sites, tools, libraries, and documentation. Those resources are owned and operated by third parties, and eMpTy Theory has no control over them. Links are provided for convenience and do not imply endorsement. Visiting linked sites is at your own risk and subject to those sites’ own terms and privacy practices.
Disclaimer of warranties
The site and everything on it are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. While we try to keep posts accurate and up to date, software and platforms change quickly. Code samples, technical advice, and opinions may become outdated, incomplete, or just plain wrong. Always verify before relying on anything you read here, especially in production code.
eMpTy Theory does not guarantee that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, emptytheory.com is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or other damages arising out of your use of the site or any content on it — including, but not limited to, loss of data, lost profits, or bugs introduced by following an example from a post.
If you are unhappy with the site, your sole remedy is to stop using it.
Analytics
The site may use analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) to understand aggregate traffic patterns. Details about what is collected and how it’s used are covered in the Privacy Policy.
Changes to these Terms
These Terms may change over time. When they do, the “Updated” date at the top of this page will change too. Material changes will be reflected here; continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
